Career Clarity Intern Program

2019 Summer Internships

Ready to get your foot in the door and jumpstart your career? The Sells Agency, a full-service advertising, marketing and public relations firm with offices in Little Rock and Fayetteville, is looking for full-time interns to work in its Little Rock office during the Summer 2019 Career Clarity program. We’re offering students a chance to gain agency experience and start building portfolios they can be proud to call their own.

To be eligible for participation in the Career Clarity program, students must be a junior or senior in a related field: advertising, public relations, marketing, journalism, graphic design, art, etc. Interns will gain invaluable exposure to agency life and receive hands-on experience while receiving a stipend for their work. Students who wish to receive college credit for their internships will be responsible for informing their supervisors of the necessary requirements.

Advertising/Public Relations:

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is a good communicator, can take direction and then take the bull by the horns, is organized and will manage any project we give them with a great attitude and the desire to learn.

Duties may include: writing, research, assisting with project management, social media, and taking part in anything else the account executives have on their schedule.

Copywriting:

Being a copywriter is one of the most important jobs at an advertising agency. Most projects start with you! You are tasked with making our client’s goals come to life in the form of a story. If creative writing is your name and proofing your friend’s history paper is your game, then you have come to the right place!

Duties may include: research, short-form writing, long-form writing, proofing, group work, and participation in anything else the creative team is working on.

Graphic Design:

You’re a creative and eager person. You’re able to take an idea and run with it. You’re self-motivated, eager to learn, and you’re able to concept and see a project from its beginning to end. And, of course, you know how to use Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.

If all that sounds like you, then you should apply to be our Graphic Design intern! Duties may include shooting, editing, and color correcting photos, designing ad layouts, conceptualizing with creative team, and much more!

Videography:

The Videography Intern will assist in every step of the video production process. From writing scripts and creating shot lists to assisting with lighting and gaffing on set to editing and archiving raw footage in post-production, you’ll get hands-on experience PLUS work with a great team of creatives!

Additional qualities:

Above we've listed the bare minimum qualifications. Bonus points if:

___You have an amount of initiative that falls somewhere between automatically re-filling the empty paper towel holder and spearheading our building's long-overdue recycling program.

___Your mind is a steel trap. You easily recall the birth dates of your family members and the license plate numbers of evildoers … and everything in between.

___You're an overachiever. But you don't brag about it.

___You know you're not perfect, but you don't have to like it.

___You Google first. Ask questions later.

___You tremble at the awesome power of deadlines.

___You never lost your child-like enthusiasm for learning.

___You have hobbies and pursuits and musings about the world that inspire and enrich your work.

___You treat others with respect because everyone has something to teach you. Even if it's only patience.

___You use humor to cheer yourself up. It usually works on other people, too.
